(Source) Myles Jack had just finished playing three games of basketball when he found out his knee was going to explode.
One of the most discussed body parts in this year's NFL draft made it to the screen of Jack's phone after a leg workout and a hoops binge at an L.A. Fitness in Arizona, as the UCLA product tells it.
"I did a whole leg workout, a whole leg day," Jack told Yahoo Sports by phone on Friday. "I did my agilities, did my conditioning, took a nap. Golden State played at 6 or 7, so I thought, 'Let's get a run in before that game.' Came back, watched Golden State. Looked at my phone and my knee is a 'time bomb.' "
HAHAHAHA Myles Jack is one funny dude. It’s great when a guy like that has some perspective. Sure, your knee might explode and end your career, and for that reason no team in the NFL wants to touch you with a 10 foot pole before the second round. You know what else is funny? 19,000,000. Or, the number of dollars difference between the #1 overall pick, and number 32. So you can imagine that it’s probably an even larger deficit than that when you get into the second round. Still laughing Myles? That’s a lot of money.
One of my favorite parts of the NFL draft, or any sports draft for that matter, is the reaction of the fans of teams that are ALWAYS bad. There is no sound quite like the boos when a team drafts someone the fans hate. The boos that course with the hatred of years of playoff oppression just waiting to spill out when that fateful name is called. I should know. As a Bills fan I’ve hated my fair share of draft picks, but ever since Terry has been in charge, I can’t really complain with the moves that have been made (minus Rex of course). At least they haven’t drafted an FUCLA product with a combustible knee, so we have that going for us.
P.S. In all seriousness, I’d love Myles Jack as a Bill. Don’t see it happening with the Shaq pick, however
